New Internet Provider to Host ‘Meet & Greet’ Events

Agri-Valley Services (AVS), an internet provider serving Michigan’s Thumb and Northern regions, will soon begin offering high-speed internet service to rural areas within Leelanau County.

To provide information about the company and its internet offerings, AVS will host public ‘Meet & Greet” events on Monday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 24 at the Leelanau County Government Center, located at 8527 E. Government Center Drive in Suttons Bay. Both events will be held in the Community Room on the building’s lower level from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

“After several years of collaboration with Leelanau Internet Futures Team (LIFT), we’re proud to bring fast and reliable internet service to underserved areas of Leelanau County,” said Barb Main, Director, Agri-Valley Services. “We believe our internet service will be a valuable resource for the rural residents of Leelanau County, jumpstarting economic growth and offering vital access to education, healthcare, and government services.”

AVS will offer its truNet fixed wireless service from three tower sites – Omena, Leland, and Maple City. Work is in progress to bring the sites online, with Omena and Leland initially available, and soon to be followed by Maple City.

“We are inviting the public to come and meet our team at the May 23rd and 24th events,” said Main. “At these events, we will have casual conversations with members of the community about our internet service, information about the various plans and speeds we will offer, and even be able to complete pre-sign ups for residents who are interested in subscribing to our services when they’re available.”

The ‘Meet & Greet’ events will also feature free snacks and refreshments, gift basket giveaways, and take-home literature about AVS and its offerings. More information can be found at agrivalleyservices.com/trunet.
