BATA Releases 2021 Leelanau County Report

The Leelanau Peninsula Economic Foundation invited representatives from Bay Area Transportation Authority (BATA) to join their March, 2022 Board meeting to share updates on their services and plans for the future.

Attached is the presentation shared.

Some highlights include:

  • 2021 increase on Route 10 (Suttons Bay, Northport, Omena, Peshawbestown) by 15% from 2020

  • The seasonal Loop 11 (Cedar, Maple City, Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear, Empire) is currently under review for 2022

  • Link ridership increase more than 33% from 2020

  • Link On-Demand ridership increased by 238%. This service provides on-demand, door-to-door service. It’s expected that this service will continue to grow in the future.

  • Customer Satisfaction remains very strong - 88% overall satisfaction with services, 91% with Call Center, 97% with BATA Drivers.

  • Environmentally conscious - 46% of the BATA fleet is propane powered for lower greenhouse emissions.
